Le Mesteghe
OUR VINES
Our winery is named after the territory where it stands; an hard clay soil very difficult to work and formerly and jokingly called "mestegho".
The red berry grape is the typical fruit of our territory. It is cultivated on the most of our company hectares and allow us to obtain our red and quality rosè wines.
To face the dry season we are equipped with a totally computerised “goccia a goccia” irrigation machinery that allow us to have a constant flow without water waste.

The cultivation method, from the soft pruning to the manual harvesting, is focused on the quality of the wine, which is produced every year with our grapes. Our winery, surrounded by the vines, is an ideal place to work. Here we invest in strength and passion and grew new vines that, little by little, increase the prestige of our company.
During the last past years we have improved the vine variety of our Roncade estate which is the cradle of our passion and where we grew a fantastic glera grape, that is vinified in Prosecco DOC in our winery that stands in Monastier di Treviso. Even here we have chosen to unify the innovation of a modern vine with the typical tradition of this territory. Here you can feel the same atmosphere that once animated the goodwill of our grandpar-ents.
The Passito: Our Dried Grape Wine

The “passito” is the product that complete our big range of wines. A very particular product which is created with the red-berry-fruit of the “raboso veronese” vine, that makes this passito different from the others. The grapes harvested in late October are put on a particular “mat” where they are allowed to dry in a temperature and humidity controlled room until the new year. This particular method permits the fermentation of the fruit just with the addition of a particular yeast called “Premium Zinfandel”. However, the hard winter has made difficult for us to control the fermentation temperature which happened at about 22°C. The new wine is now resting in our “tonneaux” tanks made of Slavonia oak, a particular wood that permits a constant oxygen exchange with the outside and a slow maturation.
